The Last Prayer Event
The account of the last prayer event the world will ever witness may be found IN THE SIXTH CHAPTER OF REVELATION. “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come: and who shall be able to stand?” (Rev. 6:15-17). This is the prayer that will be offered in the final prayer even!
There will be a great multitude in attendance at this particular prayer event (including a very substantial number of famous and great people of the earth); and this is in spite of the fact that it will not hold in palaces, or mansions, or stadiums – but among rocks and caves! Even many prayers held today in really comfortable environments are thin and scantily attended – few are present. Not so for this one. All that have ever treated the Lamb of God (Jesus Christ) unworthily and continued in it, will be present. Millions have done this – therefore, they will all without exception be present at this event. Attendance at this meeting is not optional nor is any left to his/her free will to decide whether to be present or otherwise.
The rulers, the distinguished, the wealthy, and the highly regarded persons will be present. The vast majority of those who live upon high places of the earth usually have little or in most cases nothing to do with prayer meetings (where prayers are offered to the only true and living God). They have no time; they are above such things. They prefer to leave such meetings for the poor, the unlearned, the unsophisticated, and the low in life. But they will come to this meeting! We have express mention of this: “And the kings of the earth and the great men, and the rich men and the mighty men,” said, “fall on us”. They may never have been in a meeting where there was true prayer before, but cannot stay away from this.
There will be great emotion in the event. It will not be dull or drowsy and formal. There will be feelings – the deepest of all time. Men will have the most terrible emotions when they are compelled to cry for the rocks and mountains to fall on and hide them. How dreadful must be the sight of Him that sits on the Throne, when the fear of Him inspires such a prayer as this!
There will be no indifference in that event. They will all pray, and what a prayer! It is not addressed to God the Father or the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. They never received any true spiritual homage from the multitude present at this gathering. They so ill-treated the blessed God and carried it to such a desperate and despicable length, that they despair, as they well may, of any mercy from God; by not accepting Him (JESUS) as their only Lord and Saviour. Oh! Consider the great irony of the situation of these men and women who are compelled to pray to rocks and mountains: they had ample opportunities – but they abused all such opportunities they had to pray to the Lamb of God sent to take away their sins and save their souls from the wrath and judgments of God! Now, they would go anywhere, or suffer anything to escape or hide from God. They chose that the rocks and mountains should fall on them and grind them to paste, rather than encounter the wrath of the Lamb. OH! TO WHAT DESPERATE AND HOPELESS MISERY MUST MEN BE DRIVEN when they can offer such dreadful curse upon themselves!
Dear reader, are you on your way to this event? You hope not, but it is the manner of your life and not your hope that determines this. Deeds must be the test of words and the true indication of character. If you are indifferent in drawing near unto God through Jesus Christ, you are certainly on your way to this event.
STOP! THINK! PONDER ON THIS TRUTH!
Be persuaded to avoid this event-
(2 Corinthians 5:11a, 19-21) “Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
There will be many crying for the rocks and mountains to fall upon them. Now is the right time to escape. Think of it! Soon Jesus will return to take away His followers. Now is the time to fulfill your dying wishes. COME THROUGH THE DOOR OF ESCAPE-
(John 10:7) “Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door”
(John 14:6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
The Bible clearly teaches that there is no other name given whereby you can be saved except Jesus (Acts 4:12); that if you will confess your sins, He is faithful and will forgive your sins (1 John 1:9); that if you will come to Christ, you will be given power to stand and live for Him (John1:12).
COME NOW! Who knows what tomorrow may bring forth? (Proverbs 27:1}. Tomorrow may be late. If God’s today be too soon for your repentance, your tomorrow may be too late for His acceptance, and you cannot repent too soon because you do not know how soon it may be too late.
“Wherefore as the Holy Ghost says, today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts….” (Hebrews 3:7-15).
“For He says, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
THINK OF IT! COME ON NOW! So that when others cry for the rocks and mountains to fall and hide them from the face of Him that sits on the throne, you will sing with the saints in heaven: “Worthy is the Lamb that redeemed me unto God by His Blood” (Revelation 5:9).
